Vinny - Discover Wholesale Price by Scanning Used Car App Reviews

Not bad

Vinny will not scan my cars VIN (in any of the places I have it); thankfully I can manually enter in the information. Beyond that, the information is relatively accurate and good. I would like it to have metric instead of just imperial (Im Canadian and the odometer is in kilometres, not miles as a rule). If the scan would work for me and metric was allowed, I would rate this higher.

saved $600

I used this app to save $600 off the asking price of a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan, the dealership admited the price this app had was correct but they were not gonna sell it for that much, eventually they gave in to throwing in a car starter and reducing the price $600 thanks to this app

Very useful

Good

Works in Canada

The prices Vinny suggests are very close to the canadian black book so I have found the app to be incredibly helpful here in Canada. The app helped me negotiate a good price when buying an SUV and I am now using it to know where to price 2 vehicles that I am selling.

Nice app of it works

I like the app. It has a nice layout. But it freezes up and crashes. Needs to be updated.

Not worth the effort

Wouldnt read any of my three vehicles. Not worth the effort to type in the barcode given the negative reviews of other people

Fantastic App!!!

I have over 100 apps in my iTunes library and this is seriously one of the most useful apps Ive ever downloaded! What a fantastic app. It provides great information and it is VERY EASY to use! Many of the bad reviews are from imbeciles who fail to read. Vinnys prices are wholesale prices - prices a dealer might pay when they purchase a car and then plan to turn around and sell it for profit. If you want the true retail value of your car, simply tap on Retail/Book values. Its not that difficult. I, for one, love this app! What a truly fantastic app! I hope it stays around for a very, very long time, because its quickly become one of my favorite apps!

Good

Spot on most of the time

love it!

I havent used it to actually go negotiate yet, but so far, Ive used it for every car Im looking at (including my currently owned) and its wonderful..

Car history

We did not appreciate that when we paid to get the car history, we did not received a PDF copy to our email account, and then when we wanted to review back the information it asked us again to pay the fee.

Great

This is a really good app and very useful I love it keep up the good work much love and support

Very cool

Quite an impressive app. It proved exceedingly helpful in both determining what to buy and during final negotiations. Gotta love Big Data!

Flash?

Make it the flash is off by default or make a switch for it. Great app other then that.

Didnt read my VIN

I scanned the VIN it didnt work and I tried manually typing it in and it still said the vin was invalid.

Could be a great program, 1 fatal flaw

This program had incredible potential. Everything works great and the interface is good. One massive problem that needs to be fixed immediately: when you buy a report on a cars vin, it doesnt store the info. If you navigate away from the page to look at any other info about the car or say leave the app and come back later once you are involved with the car buying process (when you need the info the most!) the app loses all the report data!! Why?!?! Why cant it store the history you just paid for? Why do you have to pay twice for the same info? Please fix this immediately!

Total ripoff

Not worth the try

This is amazing!

If youve ever gone through the used car buying process, it is one of the most painful things to go through! These guys have put you on an even playing field with those used car salesman. Meaning you get the insight into what the used car salesman knows and how much they paid for that car. Or at least with the average price is for that vehicle. Im trying to buy a truck right now, and this is my go to to help. And the team who built this, are geniuses! Ill support just about anything these guys do :-)

History lost after purchase

I like the ability to see reviews book values and wholesale prices. However, I downloaded a vehicle history report as a PDF, then I was stuck in that vehicles page. The back button disappeared. I had to scan a new VIN, so I shut it down, opened the app again. After scanning the new vehicle, I went back to the one with the purchased history, and it had disappeared! It just asked me to purchase it again! I even used iPhone explorer to try to find the PDF later in the evening, but it was nowhere to be found. Is this because I did not sign into the web site first? You guys should really fix that. And how do I get my money or report back?

Update fixed problem

This latest update fixed the crash on my iPad 2 with iOS 5.1.1. Great support from the developers!

Nice app

Just saved $450 this past weekend.
